The table below compares sales of single-family existing homes from January-December for 2017 and 2018 for each of Florida’s 22 Metropolitan Statistical Area’s (MSA’s). The information is compiled from data provided by the Florida Association of Realtors. The Tallahassee MSA includes Leon, Jefferson, Wakulla, and Gadsden counties.
The information shows that for 2018, existing home sales in the Tallahassee MSA was 0.5% behind 2017 levels. This rate is below the state average of 2.0% and is ranked 19th when compared to the other 22 MSA’s.
The Tallahassee MSA growth in single-family sales in 2017 (2.2%) finished ranked 12th.
Ocala led the state with 12.5% in sales growth in 2018. Ocala was followed by Cape Coral, which reported an increase of 7.9%, and Sebring with a 6.7% growth rate.
