The latest employment information shows that Leon County gained 5,540 jobs in September 2017. This month’s gains follows a lost 211 jobs in August. One year ago Leon County gained 4,375 jobs.
The unemployment rate decreased from 3.9 last month to 3.2% in September. One year ago the unemployment rate was 4.8%.
The Leon County Jobs Report, listed below, indicates that 151,813 people were working in September 2017. This is 5,540 (3.8%) more than the 146,273 reported working in September of last year. Also, the labor force expanded when compared to one year ago. In September 2017, the workforce was 156,791 compared to 153,670 last year.
At the state-level, Florida gained 119,000 jobs in September and the labor force increased by 55,000. The unemployment rate decreased to 3.6% in September from 4.3% in August.
